Desmond Tutu said that “If you are neutral in situations of injustice, you have chosen the side of the oppressor”, in 2015 I was asked by Mark Duggan's family to co direct a short documentary about the unlawful killing of their family member, which I was proud to be a part of. This is different, I am responding.I thought of making a film with visual connotations of what happened using my mannequin, which was the police officer kneeled on George Floyd's throat for 8 minutes and killed him. I started to focus on the duration of the 8 minutes. 8 Minutes sounds like a alot but if you were on fire it would seem like a lifetime.
